
Wanblee Man Guilty of Stealing Truck

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Wanblee man charged with Larceny was sentenced on July 30, 2012, by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken. Godfrey Chipps, age 27, was sentenced to time served and 3 years' supervised release and ordered to pay $100 to the Victim Assistance Fund. In April 2011, near Wanblee, Chipps stole a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck from a residence. He pled guilty on April 16, 2012. This case was investigated by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Office of Justice Services, and the Oglala Sioux Tribe-Department of Public Safety. Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Kelderman prosecuted the case. |
