Rapid City Man Pleads Guilty to Drug Conspiracy

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that Kyle Thomas Soltesz, age 32, of Rapid City, appeared before United States District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken on October 24, 2012, and pled guilty to a federal charge of conspiracy to distribute a controlled substance. The maximum penalty upon conviction is 5 years of imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.

The charge relates to Soltesz conspiring with others to distribute marijuana in the Rapid City area in 2011. The investigation was conducted by the Drug Enforcement Administration. The case is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Ted McBride.

A presentence investigation was ordered, and a sentencing date was set for March 1, 2013. The defendant was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending sentencing.
