Sioux Falls Man Sentenced in Methamphetamine Conspiracy

US Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Sioux Falls man charged in a methamphetamine distribution conspiracy was sentenced on August 23, 2012, by Chief US District Judge Karen E. Schreier. Shea Mitchell Reiners, age 28, was sentenced to 63 months in prison to be followed by 4 years of supervised release.

Reiners was indicted for conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing methamphetamine by a federal grand jury on March 7, 2012. He pled guilty to the offense on June 6, 2012.

During his involvement in the conspiracy, Reiners made multiple trips to Arizona to obtain methamphetamine for distribution by him and his co-conspirators. His involvement in the conspiracy ended on January 17, 2012, when he was detained in relation to a search warrant.

This case was investigated by the Sioux Falls Police Department, the South Dakota Division of Criminal Investigation, and the United States Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant US Attorney Connie Larson prosecuted the case.

Reiners was immediately turned over to the custody of the US Marshal.
