Sioux Falls Man Sentenced in Methamphetamine Conspiracy

US Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Sioux Falls man charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine was sentenced on September 17, 2012, by Chief US District Judge Karen E. Schreier. Peter Allen Villerreal, age 49, was sentenced to 188 months in prison to be followed by 5 years of supervised release.

Villerreal was indicted for conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of a mixture or substance of methamphetamine by a federal grand jury on March 7, 2012. He pled guilty to the offense on June 25, 2012.

During his involvement in the conspiracy, Villerreal made several trips to Minnesota to obtain methamphetamine which he distributed in Sioux Falls.

This case was investigated by the Sioux Falls Police Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. Assistant US Attorney Connie Larson prosecuted the case.

Villerreal was immediately turned over to the custody of the US Marshal.
