Oklahoma Man Sentenced for East Texas Wire Fraud
Ordered to pay over $2 million in restitution
TYLER, Texas – A 61-year-old Idabel, Oklahoma man was sentenced for wire fraud violations in the Eastern District of Texas, announced U.S. Attorney John M. Bales today.
Danny Wood pleaded guilty on Feb. 13, 2012 to an Information charging him with wire fraud and was sentenced to 20 months in federal prison on June 7, 2012, by U.S. District Judge Michael H. Schneider. Wood was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $2,089,230.30 to Lone Star Production Credit, PCA.
According to information presented in court, on Jan. 9, 2009, Wood faxed a fraudulent report from Arkansas to Lone Star Production Credit, PCA, in New Boston, Texas. The false report was sent with the intent to defraud Lone Star.
This case was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jim Noble.
