VANCOUVER MAN GETS FIVE YEARS FOR DRUG AND WEAPONS CRIMES
LEE MURRAY FERRYMAN, 45, of Vancouver, Washington was sentenced to 5 years in prison to be followed by 4 years of supervised release for Manufacturing Marijuana and Possession of a Firearm in Connection with a Drug Crime. Judge Ronald B. Leighton sentenced FERRYMAN to the mandatory minimum term on February 18, 2005, noting that FERRYMAN kept weapons in his home in connection with a marijuana growing operation.
According to court papers, on October 24, 2003, members of the Clark-Skamania County Drug Task Force, the Washington State Patrol, and SWAT teams from Clark County and the Vancouver Police Department executed a search warrant at FERRYMAN's residence in Vancouver, Washington. They found marijuana and a marijuana grow operation with 170 plants in the basement of the home. Officers seized eleven firearms ranging from Glock and Ruger handguns to shotguns and rifles. The task force returned in February 2004 to FERRYMAN's home and seized more guns and a quantity of packaged marijuana.
The case was investigated by the Clark County Drug Task Force, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF). Assistant United States Attorney William H. Redkey, Jr., prosecuted the case.
