DAVID McCRAE, 26, of Seattle, Washington was sentenced to 37 months in prison and three years of supervised release today for being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm. In sentencing McCRAE, Chief U.S. District Judge Robert Lasnik noted McCRAE's family in the courtroom and urged him to use them as motivation to get through his prison sentence and back to his family as soon as possible.

McCRAE was arrested November 18, 2004 following an undercover FBI investigation. According to the plea agreement, in May 2004, McCRAE sold a .30 caliber M-1 carbine rifle to an FBI informant for $300. The transaction was recorded. McCRAE had previously served prison time for Robbery and being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm and so was barred from possessing a gun. In court McCRAE apologized to his family.

The case was investigated by the FBI and prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney William H. Redkey.
