VANCOUVER WASHINGTON MAN GETS 100 MONTH PRISON TERM FOR DISTRIBUTION OF CRACK COCAINE
Lengthy Criminal History leads to Longer Federal Prison Time
MICHAEL BOLDS, 31, of Vancouver, Washington was sentenced today to 100 months in prison and five years of supervised release for Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine Base and Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine. BOLDS was arrested in February 2006, after investigators found crack cocaine and cocaine in his Vancouver apartment. A tip had lead authorities to investigate BOLDS’ drug dealing activities. BOLDS pleaded guilty September 8, 2006.
At sentencing today U.S. District Judge Ronald B. Leighton said he was imposing the lengthy sentence in part because of BOLDS’ criminal history. BOLDS has prior convictions for Robbery, Assault and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the Vancouver Police Department (VDP). The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney William H. Redkey, Jr.
