Over 800 People Expected to Attend Project Safe Neighborhood's Anti-Gang Summit
United States Attorney James L. Santelle announced today that approximately 800 people are expected to attend the 2012 Project Safe Neighborhoods Anti-Gang Summit. The program will be held on Wednesday October 31st and Thursday November 1st at the Wyndham Hotel and Conference Center located at 4747 S. Howell Ave.
The Summit will begin at 8:00 am each day with opening remarks. On October 31st, remarks will be provided by United States Attorney James L. Santelle, Chief Edward A. Flynn of the Milwaukee Police Department and Jeffery A. Magee the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the ATF. On November 1st, opening remarks will be provided by Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen and Teresa L. Carlson the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI.
The audience includes: law enforcement officers, probation and parole agents, correctional officers, school district personnel, social workers, local government officials, prosecutors, Safe and Sound employees, Boys and Girls Clubs representatives, social service agencies, and many others. The conference is comprised of two plenary sessions and sixty-three (63) individual workshops.
The Conference Planning Committee consisted of representatives of the following agencies: Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, Drug Enforcement Administration, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Fox Valley Technical College, Homeland Security Investigations, Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office, Milwaukee Health Department, Milwaukee HIDTA, Milwaukee Mayors Office, Milwaukee Police Department, National Association of School Safety and Law Enforcement Officials, Racine Police Department, Racine Re-entry Program, Racine Vocational Ministry, Safe & Sound Inc., United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, West Allis Police Department, Wisconsin Department of Corrections, Wisconsin Department of Justice and the Wisconsin School Safety Coordinators Association.
