Follansbee Resident Sentenced for Firearms Violation
WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA — A 26 year old Follansbee, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on August 14, 2009, in United States District Court in Wheeling by Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr.
United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that MATTHEW IAN HAUGHT was sentenced to 33 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. HAUGHT entered a plea of guilty on June 23, 2009, to one count of an Indictment charging him with purchasing a rifle in New Cumberland, West Virginia, on October 23, 2009, while he was an unlawful user of and addicted to heroin.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Randolph J. Bernard. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
