      Harrison County Resident Sentenced to 5 Years on
      Firearms Charge
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - A 23 year old Clarksburg, West Virginia, resident was sentenced today (August 13, 2009), in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.
United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that CODY DYLAN RIGGS was sentenced to 60 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. RIGGS entered a plea of guilty on April 30, 2009, to one count charging RIGGS, who was previously convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year and prohibited from possessing firearms, with possessing an Ithaca rifle, Model M-49, .22 caliber, on September 29, 2008, in Harrison County. RIGGS was previously convicted of Robbery in the Circuit Court of the Eighteenth Judicial Circuit of Brevard County, Florida. RIGGS was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
