Wheeling Resident Sentenced for
Communication of a Bomb Threat

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA - A 44 year old Wheeling, West Virginia, resident was sentenced today (December 28, 2009), in United States District Court in Wheeling by Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr.

Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that CHARLES W. BEEVER was sentenced to 4 months imprisonment to be followed by two years of supervised release. BEEVER entered a plea of guilty on October 27, 2009, to one count of communication of a bomb threat on May 24, 2009, in Wheeling, by conveying false information concerning an alleged attempt to be made to damage or destroy the main post office in Wheeling by means of a bomb. BEEVER, who is free on bond, will self report to the designated Federal institution on January 28, 2010.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David J. Perri and was investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service.
