Buckhannon Resident Sentenced on
Methamphetamine Conspiracy Charge

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA - A 36 year old Buckhannon, West Virginia, resident was sentenced today (December 22, 2009), in United States District Court in Wheeling by Chief Judge John P. Bailey.

Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that TOBIAS L. BENNETT a/k/a “TOBY” was sentenced to 46 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. BENNETT entered a plea of guilty on September 9, 2009, to one count of conspiracy to possess equipment and materials to manufacture methamphetamine from July 31, 2008, to July 23, 2009, in Upshur County, West Virginia. BENNETT was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner and was investigated by the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department and the West Virginia State Police-Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
