Clarksburg Resident Sentenced for Mail Theft
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 45 year old Clarksburg, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on November 20, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.
Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that SANDRA KAY JENKINS was sentenced to six months home detention followed by three years probation and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $1,165.58. JENKINS entered a plea of guilty on July 30, 2009, to one count of an Indictment charging her with stealing mail matter from and out of post office boxes in the Reynoldsville Post Office on October 5, 2008.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Andrew R. Cogar. The case was investigated by the United States Postal Inspection Service.
