Hagerstown, Maryland, Resident Sentenced
on Crack Cocaine Charge

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 23-year old Hagerstown, Maryland, resident was sentenced today (December 17, 2009), in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that:

ANDREW KEYES was sentenced to 70 months imprisonment to be followed by five years of supervised release. KEYES entered a plea of guilty on July 10, 2009, to two counts of an Indictment charging him with one count of conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of cocaine base, also known as “crack,” from October 2008 to July 2009; and one count of possession with intent to distribute “crack” cocaine on October 18, 2008, in Monongalia County.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley. The case was investigated by the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, West Virginia State Police and the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department.
