Worthington Resident Enters Plea of Guilty to Firearms Charge
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A Worthington, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on December 10, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Judge Irene M. Keeley.
Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that: STACY THOMPSON, age 33, entered a plea of guilty to one count of being in possession of a firearm on November 13, 2009, in Marion County, West Virginia, after having previously been convicted of a felony. THOMPSON, who is in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum exposure of ten years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.
This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn A. Morgan. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; the United States Marshals Service and the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.
