Weston Resident Sentenced on Firearms Violation
ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA — A 21 year old Weston, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on January 27, 2009, in United States District Court in Elkins by Judge Robert E. Maxwell.
United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that JEFFREY SHERIDAN was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release and was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $457. SHERIDAN entered a plea of guilty on August 17, 2008, to an Information charging him with possessing, concealing, and disposing of a stolen firearm in October 2007 in Weston, which had been shipped in interstate commerce.
SHERIDAN is in federal custody.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives and the Weston Police Department.
