Eight Defendants Sentenced For Violations
of Federal Drug, Firearm, and Contraband Violations
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — Eight defendants were sentenced on January 9 - 16, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Judge Irene M. Keeley.
United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that:
DEBORAH CAMPBELL, age 51, of Pennsboro, West Virginia, was sentenced to five years probation with the first six months to be served on home detention. CAMPBELL entered a plea of guilty on October 8, 2008, to one count of an Indictment charging her with conspiring to possess and distribute Pseudoephedrine, knowing and having reasonable cause to believe it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine from November 2006 to July 1, 2008.
JODI DARLENE DODSON, age 39, of West Union, West Virginia, was sentenced to 46 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. DODSON entered a plea of guilty on October 8, 2008, to one count of an Indictment charging her with the distribution of Pseudoephedrine, knowing and having reasonable cause to believe it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine on February 8, 2008. DODSON is currently free on bond and will self-report to a designated federal institution.
The cases were prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan. The cases were investigated by the West Virginia State Police.
JOANNA FLESHER, age 24, of Bridgeport, West Virginia, was sentenced to three years probation. FLESHER entered a plea of guilty on October 22, 2008, to one count of an Indictment charging her with violating federal firearms laws by purchasing a firearm for another individual knowing that the firearm would be used in connection with the distribution of “crack” cocaine, on February 15, 2008, in Clarksburg. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan. The case was investigated by the Harrison/Lewis County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force; the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives; the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigations; and the Three Rivers Drug Task Force.
CHRISTOPHER HAWK, age 26, of East Millsboro, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to three years probation and ordered to pay a fine of $1,000. HAWK entered a plea of guilty on September 19, 2008, to one count of an Information charging him with providing unauthorized DVDs to an inmate in February-March 2007 at the USP Hazelton in Preston County. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David E. Godwin. The case was investigated by the Department of Justice - Office of Inspector General.
MALCOLM NOWLIN, age 35, of Fairmont, was sentenced to 51 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. NOWLIN entered a plea of guilty on September 17, 2008, to one count of an Indictment charging him with the distribution of cocaine on June 26, 2007, in Fairmont. NOWLIN is in federal custody. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney John C. Parr. The case was investigated by the Three Rivers Drug Task Force.
ROBIN L. STEWART, age 46, of Montana Mines, West Virginia, was sentenced to 30 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release and was ordered to forfeit $11,390.00. STEWART entered a plea of guilty on November 12, 2008, to one count of an Information charging her with possessing marijuana and cocaine hydrochloride with the intent to distribute on June 19, 2008, in Fairmont. STEWART is in federal custody. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley. The case was investigated by the Three Rivers Drug Task Force and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
RANDALL STUBBLEFIELD, also known as “UNK,”age 54, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was sentenced to 63 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. STUBBLEFIELD entered a plea of guilty on August 29, 2008, to one count of an Indictment charging him with distributing “crack” cocaine on January 9, 2007, in Clarksburg. STUBBLEFIELD is currently free on bond and will self-report to a designated federal institution. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan. The case was investigated by the Harrison/Lewis County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force with assistance from the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
JOHN D. WASHINGTON, age 27, of Fairmont, was sentenced to 30 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. WASHINGTON entered a plea of guilty on September 12, 2008, to one count of an Indictment charging WASHINGTON, a convicted felon, with unlawfully possessing a firearm on October 2, 2007, in Marion County. WASHINGTON is currently free on bond and will self-report to a designated federal institution. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
The Harrison/Lewis County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force consists of officers from the Clarksburg Police Department, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, the Bridgeport Police Department, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
The Three Rivers Drug Task Force consists of officers from the Fairmont Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.
