Wheeling Resident Entered Guilty Plea
to Possession of Child Pornography

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA — A 34 year old Wheeling, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on July 7, 2009, in United States District Court in Wheeling before Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr.

United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that MATTHEW ARNOLD entered a plea of guilty to an Information charging him with knowingly possessing a computer disk and other material containing images of child pornography on August 28, 2006, in Wheeling, that had been transported in interstate commerce by means of a computer.

ARNOLD faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley and was investigated by the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
