Mathias Resident Sentenced on Firearms Violation
ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA — A 43 year old Mathias, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on July 9, 2009, in United States District Court in Elkins by Chief Judge John Preston Bailey.
United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that RICKY LYN CUSTER was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. CUSTER entered a plea of guilty on December 1, 2008, to one count of an Indictment charging CUSTER, who was an unlawful user of and addicted to methamphetamine and marijuana, with possessing firearms on July 3, 2008, in Mathias.
CUSTER was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives and the West Virginia State Police.
