Two Martinsburg Residents Entered
Guilty Pleas to Drug Charge

MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — Two Martinsburg, West Virginia, residents entered guilty pleas on July 17, 2009, in United States District Court in Martinsburg before Magistrate Judge David J. Joel.

United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that MYKERLANGE GUERRIER, also known as “VOODOO,” age 31, of Martinsburg; and ORTHURINE ROSEMARIE HUNTER, age 25, of Martinsburg, each entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging them with the distribution of “crack” cocaine on March 15, 2007, in Martinsburg.

GUERRIER is in custody pending sentencing.

HUNTER is currently free on bond pending sentencing.

They each face a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $1,000,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Thomas O. Mucklow. The case was investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force; the Drug Enforcement Administration; and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives. The Task Force consists of officers from the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Martinsburg Police Department, and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department.
