Upshur County Resident Sentenced
on Methamphetamine Charge
ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA — A 20 year old Upshur County, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on June 15, 2009, in United States District Court in Elkins by Judge Robert E. Maxwell.
United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that DANIELLE LYNN PICKENS was sentenced to 40 months imprisonment to be followed by one year supervised release. PICKENS entered a plea of guilty on May 13, 2009, to one count of an Indictment charging her with possessing 10 cans of Prestone Starting Fluid in Upshur County having reasonable cause to believe that it would be used to illegally manufacture methamphetamine.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner. The case was investigated by the Harrison/Lewis County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force, the West Virginia State Police-Bureau of Criminal Investigations, the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department, the Granville Police Department, and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department.
