Frederick, Maryland, Resident Sentenced to 15 Years
To Felon In Possession Charge
MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 25 year old Frederick, Maryland, resident was sentenced on February 24, 2009, in United States District Court in Martinsburg by Chief Judge John Preston Bailey.
United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that NAHIF ABDUL was sentenced to 180 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. ABDUL entered a plea of guilty on November 5, 2008, to one count of an Indictment charging ABDUL, who had three previous felony drug convictions, with being a felon in possession of a firearm on October 28, 2007.
ABDUL, who is in federal custody, was sentenced as an Armed Career Criminal.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Erin K. Reisenweber. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives and the Charles Town Detachment of the West Virginia State Police.
