Dilliner, Pennsylvania, Resident Sentenced
to 10+ Years on Firearms Violations

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 41 year old Dilliner, Pennsylvania, resident was sentenced on March 16, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that TIMOTHY DAVID DANKO was sentenced to 130 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release, and was ordered to pay approximately $12,000 in restitution. DANKO entered guilty pleas to two counts of an Information on October 29, 2008. Count One of the Information charged DANKO with burglarizing West Virginia Jewelry & Loan in Westover, West Virginia, and stealing three firearms on December 23, 2007. Count Two of the Information charged DANKO with conspiring to receive and sell stolen firearms in Greene County, Pennsylvania, in April 2007. DANKO stole these firearms during a burglary of the True Value Hardware Store in Rice’s Landing, Pennsylvania. He waived his right to have this charge presented in the Western District of Pennsylvania in order to resolve both cases at one time.

DANKO is currently in state custody in Pennsylvania.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Andrew R. Cogar. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives in both the Northern District of West Virginia and the Western District of Pennsylvania.
