Clarksburg Resident Sentenced on Marijuana Violation
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 29 year old Clarksburg, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on March 3, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.
United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that PETRUS NGOZI HAWKINS, also known as “PETE,” was sentenced to 12 months and one day imprisonment to be followed by four years supervised release. HAWKINS entered a plea of guilty on October 30, 2008, to one count of an Indictment charging him with possession with intent to distribute marijuana within 1,000 feet of Gilmer County High School on July 10, 2006, in Glenville, West Virginia.
HAWKINS is currently free on bond and will self-report to a designated federal institution.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan. The case was investigated by the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
