Glenville Resident Sentenced for Possessing Marijuana and
Cocaine Hydrochloride within 1,000 Feet of Gilmer County High School

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 25 year old Glenville, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on March 5, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that JEFFREY ALAN MIHELICH was sentenced to 12 months and one day imprisonment to be followed by six years supervised release. MIHELICH entered a plea of guilty on November 7, 2008, to one count of an Indictment charging him with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and cocaine hydrochloride within 1,000 feet of Gilmer County High School on September 16, 2007, in Glenville.

MIHELICH is currently free on bond.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan. The case was investigated by the West Virginia State Police-Bureau of Criminal Investigations; the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department; and the Harrison/Lewis County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force. The Task Force consists of officers from the Clarksburg Police Department, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, the Bridgeport Police Department, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
