Morgantown Man Gets 12 Years on Heroin Charge
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 29 year old Morgantown, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on March 6, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.
United States Attorney Sharon L. Potter announced that ARLO WHITEOAK ROMANO, also known as “LO,” was sentenced to 144 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. ROMANO entered a plea of guilty on November 24, 2008, to one count of an Indictment charging him with the distribution of heroin on May 28, 2008, in Fairmont.
The sentence imposed reflects the significant drug weight for heroin (400-700g) and the defendant’s prior criminal history.
ROMANO is in federal custody.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Andrew R. Cogar. The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the West Virginia State Police-Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
