Fairmont Resident Entered Guilty Plea
to “Crack” Cocaine Charge

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 20 year old Fairmont, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on September 25, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Judge Irene M. Keeley.

Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that HOWARD RASHAUM ENGLISH entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with the distribution of “crack” cocaine within 1,000 feet of Windmill Park, Marion County, West Virginia, on December 8, 2008.

ENGLISH, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 40 years imprisonment and a fine of $2,000,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley. The case was investigated by the Three Rivers Drug Task Force, consisting of officers from the Fairmont Police Department and the Marion County Sheriff’s Department.
