Cleveland Resident Sentenced on Cocaine Charge
WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA — A 36 year old Cleveland, Ohio, resident was sentenced on September 28, 2009, in United States District Court in Wheeling by Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr.
Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that WILLIAM ABU HINTON was sentenced to 60 months imprisonment, to be followed by three years of supervised release. HINTON entered a plea of guilty on July 7, 2009, to one count of an Indictment charging him with unlawfully possessing more than five grams of cocaine base with the intent to distribute on May 26, 2009, in Wheeling.
HINTON was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a federal institution.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney John C. Parr. The case was investigated by the Ohio Valley Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, consisting of officers from the Wheeling Police Department, the Ohio County Sheriff’s Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
