Maryland Resident Sentenced to 10 Years
on “Crack” Cocaine Charges

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 25 year old Maryland resident was sentenced on September 25, 2009, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that QUINTEL OWENS was sentenced to 120 months imprisonment to be followed by five years supervised release. OWENS entered guilty pleas on June 8, 2009, to two counts of an Indictment charging him with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute more than 50 grams of “crack” cocaine and possession with intent to distribute “crack” cocaine on October 18, 2008, in Monongalia County, West Virginia.

OWENS is in federal custody.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley. The case was investigated by the West Virginia State Police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department.
