Moorefield Resident Sentenced

ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA — A 44 year old Moorefield, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on August 24, 2010, in United States District Court in Elkins by Chief Judge John Preston Bailey.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II announced that RHONDA GASPARRO was sentenced to five years probation to be followed by six months home detention and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $108,592.00. GASPARRO entered a plea of guilty on March 25, 2010, to a one-count Information charging her with receiving federal monies for a minor child and failing to use the monies to benefit the minor child from June 1996 to March 2008 in Moorefield.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner. The case was investigated by the Social Security Administration, Office of the Inspector General – Office of Investigations.
