Buckhannon Resident Entered Guilty Plea
to Drug-Related Charge

ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA — A 21 year old Buckhannon, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on February 2, 2010, in United States District Court in Elkins before Judge Robert E. Maxwell.

Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that SHYLA LANDIS entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging her with possessing chemical, product, and material to be used to manufacture methamphetamine on February 26, 2009, in Upshur County.

LANDIS, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner. The case was investigated by the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department and the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigation.
