Martinsburg Resident Entered
Guilty Plea to Distribution Charge

MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - A 24 year old Martinsburg, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty today (March 8, 2010) in United States District Court in Martinsburg before Magistrate Judge David J. Joel.

Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that ASHLEY STAUBS entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging STAUBS with the distribution of cocaine base on June 7, 2007, in Martinsburg.

STAUBS, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $1,000,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Erin K. Reisenweber. The case was investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, consisting of the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Martinsburg Police Department, and the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department.
