Morgantown Resident Sentenced on Firearms Charge

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 36 year old Morgantown, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on March 10, 2010, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

Acting United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that TIMOTHY THOMAS was sentenced to 36 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. THOMAS entered a plea of guilty on July 31, 2009, to being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm on August 9, 2008, in Westover.

THOMAS is currently free on bond and will self-report to a designated federal institution.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
