Shinnston Resident Sentenced on Firearms Charge

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA -A 34 year old Shinnston, West Virginia, resident was sentenced today (May 4, 2010), in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

United States Attorney Betsy C. Jividen announced that JAMES LANHAM, JR. was sentenced to 30 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. LANHAM entered a plea of guilty on January 11, 2010, to one count of an Indictment charging LANHAM, who was previously convicted of domestic battery, with unlawfully possessing firearms on June 11, 2009, in Harrison County.

LANHAM, who is currently free on bond, will self-report to the designated Federal facility.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
