Buckhannon Resident Enters Plea to
Methamphetamine Charge

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - A 33 year old Buckhannon, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on November 19, 2010, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II announced that CARISA MAE CONFERE entered a plea of guilty to one count of manufacturing methamphetamine . This conduct occurred on May 28, 2008, in Lewis County, West Virginia. As part of the plea, CONFERE admitted to being involved in the manufacture of 15 pounds of methamphetamine within the past eight years. CONFERE, who is in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum exposure of 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $1,000,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner and was investigated by the West Virginia State Police and the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department.
