Fairmont Resident Entered Guilty Plea
to Firearms Violation
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 32 year old Fairmont, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on August 26, 2010, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Judge Irene M. Keeley.
United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II announced that JAMES G. MOORE, JR. entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with being a felon in possession of a firearm. On November 6, 2009, MOORE was arrested pursuant to a warrant issued for violations of his supervised release, and was found in possession of a 9 millimeter semi-automatic pistol.
MOORE, who is currently in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Sherry L. Muncy. The case was investigated by the United States Marshal Service.
