Two Individuals Sentenced in Federal Court

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — Two individuals were sentenced last week in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that:

JACOB NATHAN LARESE, age 31, of Dorchester, Massachusetts, entered a plea of guilty and was sentenced on December 8, 2011. LARESE entered a plea of guilty to one count of knowingly possessing a stolen passport on November 8, 2008, in Marion County, West Virginia, and one count of aggravated identity theft on December 12, 2008, in Marion County. LARESE was sentenced to 36 months imprisonment to be followed by 1 year of supervised release and ordered to make restitution in the amount of $1,500. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner and was investigated by the Diplomatic Security Service of the United States Department of State and the Fairmont Police Department.

STEPHEN KOSKI, age 41, of Suwanee, Georgia, formerly of Fairmont, West Virginia, was sentenced on December 9, 2011, to 1 year probation and ordered to make restitution in the amount of $1,517.03. KOSKI entered a plea of guilty on August 23, 2011, to one count of embezzling monies, funds and other assets of the labor organization from April 2006 to April 2008, in the amount of approximately $1,500, by using the Union’s credit card for personal purchases, while KOSKI was serving as the secretary-treasurer of the Machinists, AFL-CIO, Lodge 1027. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Andrew R. Cogar and was investigated by the United States Department of Labor, Office of Labor-Management Standards.
