Jane Lew Resident Sentenced on Firearms Charge
ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA — A 51 year old Jane Lew, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on February 8, 2011, in United States District Court in Elkins by Chief Judge John Preston Bailey.
United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that MICHAEL SHAY BOSLEY was sentenced to 41 months imprisonment to be followed by three years supervised release. BOSLEY entered a plea of guilty on November 1, 2010, to one count of an Indictment charging BOSLEY, a convicted felon, with knowingly possessing 13 firearms in and affecting commerce on August 5, 2009, in Jane Lew. BOSLEY’s sentence was increased because he produced or attempted to produce false, altered, and counterfeit records to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives in an attempt to obstruct the investigation.
BOSLEY is currently free on bond and will self-report to a designated federal institution.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Shawn Angus Morgan. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives; the Harrison/Lewis County Drug & Violent Crime Task Force; and the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department. The Task Force consists of officers from the Clarksburg Police Department, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department, the Bridgeport Police Department, the Lewis County Sheriff’s Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
