Charles Town Resident Enters
Guilty Plea to Firearms Violation
MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 23 year old Charles Town, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on February 11, 2011, in United States District Court in Martinsburg before Magistrate Judge David J. Joel.
United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that CHARLES DERRICK WATKINS entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging WATKINS, a convicted felon, with unlawfully possessing a firearm on August 24, 2010, in Jefferson County, West Virginia. WATKINS, who is in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Erin K. Reisenweber. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
