Illinois Resident Sentenced for
Failure to Register as a Sex Offender
CLARKSBURG WEST VIRGINIA - A 45 year old Elgin, Illinois, resident was sentenced on January 12, 2011, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.
United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that: VINCENT ACQUASANTA was sentenced to 27 months imprisonment to be followed by ten years of supervised release. ACQUASANTA entered a plea of guilty on October 21, 2010, on one count of being a person required to register under the Sex Offender Notification Act, and who traveled in interstate commerce, knowingly failed to update a registration from January 20, 2010, to April 24, 2010, in Morgantown. ACQUASANTA was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney John C. Parr and was investigated by the United States Marshals Service.
