French Creek Resident Entered Guilty Plea
to Methamphetamine Charge
ELKINS, WEST VIRGINIA — A 21 year old French Creek, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on January 18, 2011, in United States District Court in Elkins before Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull.
United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that DAVID NELSON BURR entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with aiding and abetting the possession of pseudoephedrine, knowing and having reasonable cause to believe that it would be used to manufacture methamphetamine on June 13, 2009, in Upshur County, West Virginia.
BURR, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Stephen D. Warner. The case was investigated by the West Virginia State Police; the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigations; and the Upshur County Sheriff’s Department.
