Wheeling Resident Enters
Guilty Plea to Firearms Charge

WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA - A 28 year old Wheeling, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on July 19, 2011, in United States District Court in Wheeling before Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that AIRIEL UNDERWOOD entered a plea of guilty to knowingly making a false written statement on February 19, 2011, at Cabela’s, a federally licensed firearms dealer, to acquire two firearms for and on behalf of a prohibited person.

UNDERWOOD, who is currently free on bond pending sentencing, faces a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David J. Perri. The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives.
