Fairmont Resident Sentenced on Charge of
Distribution of LSD within 1,000 Feet of
Fairmont State University
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - A 23 year old Fairmont, West Virginia, resident was sentenced on May 27, 2011, in United States District Court in Clarksburg by Judge Irene M. Keeley.
United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that MEGAN DUNIGAN was sentenced to 24 months imprisonment to be followed by six years of supervised release. DUNIGAN entered a plea of guilty on January 14, 2011, to one count of distribution of LSD within 1,000 feet of Fairmont State University on July 17, 2008. As part of her plea, DUNIGAN admitted selling 750 “hits” or dosage units of LSD. DUNIGAN was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney John C. Parr and was investigated by the Three Rivers Drug Task Force, consisting of officers from the Fairmont Police Department and the and Monongah Police Department.
