West Virginia Resident Enters
Guilty Plea to Heroin Charge
CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A West Virginia resident entered a plea of guilty on March 21, 2011, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull.
United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that JEREMY MATHEWS entered a plea of guilty to one count of an Indictment charging him with aiding and abetting in the distribution of heroin within 1,000 feet of West Virginia University on September 9, 2009.
MATHEWS, who is currently in custody, faces a maximum penalty of 40 years imprisonment and a fine of $2,000,000.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley. The case was investigated by the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigations.
