East Liverpool Resident Sentenced
on Stolen Firearms Charge
WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA - A 20 year old East Liverpool, Ohio, resident was sentenced today (March 7, 2011) in United States District Court in Wheeling by Judge Frederick P. Stamp, Jr.
United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that SHANE LEE POTTS was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. POTTS entered a plea of guilty on December 21, 2010, to one count of possession of stolen firearms from April 10, 2010, to April 13, 2010, in Chester, Hancock County, West Virginia.
POTTS is currently free on bond and will self-report to a designated federal institution on April 7, 2011.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David J. Perri and was investigated by agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
