Clarksville, Pennsylvania, Resident Indicted for
Conspiracy to Commit Bank Robberies and Bank Robbery Charge

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 35 year old Clarksville, Pennsylvania, resident was named in an Indictment returned by a Federal Grand Jury sitting in Clarksburg, West Virginia, on May 3, 2011.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that RUDOLPH T. HALADYNA was named in a three-count Indictment. Count One of the Indictment alleges that HALADYNA conspired to commit bank robberies from September 13, 2010, to December 10, 2010. The Indictment alleges that it was part of the conspiracy that HALADYNA robbed the Charleroi Federal Savings Bank in Bentleyville, Pennsylvania, on September 13, 2010, and again on September 30, 2010; the PCN Bank in Redstone Township, Pennsylvania, on October 29, 2010; and the Huntington Bank, Cheat Lake Branch, on Cheat Lake Road in Morgantown, West Virginia, on November 23, 2010.

Count Two of the Indictment alleges that HALADYNA committed bank robbery by brandishing a firearm at the Huntington Bank, Cheat Lake Branch, Morgantown, on November 23, 2010. The deposits of which were insured by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.

Count Three of the Indictment alleges that HALADYNA possessed a firearm during a crime of violence on November 23, 2010, in Morgantown.

If convicted, HALADYNA faces a maximum penalty of five years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000 on Count One of the Indictment; a maximum penalty of 25 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000 on Count Two of the Indictment; and a maximum penalty of seven years and a fine of $250,000 on Count Three of the Indictment.

The case will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Robert H. McWilliams, Jr. The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the West Virginia State Police.

It should be noted that the charges contained in the Indictment are merely accusations and not evidence of guilt, and that each defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
