Martinsburg Resident Enters Pleas of Guilty in Federal Court
MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — A 25 year old Martinsburg, West Virginia, resident entered pleas of guilty on November 9, 2011, in United States District Court in Martinsburg before Magistrate Judge David J. Joel.
United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that: D’ANGELO ANTOINE ALSTON entered pleas of guilty to two counts of an Indictment charging him with one count of possession of a firearm on May 4, 2011, in Berkeley County, after having previously been convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year and one count of possession with intent to distribute 123.6 grams of crack cocaine on May 10, 2011, during a traffic stop by the Martinsburg Police Department. ALSTON, who is in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum exposure of 10 years imprisonment and a fine of $250,000 on the firearms charge and 5 to 40 years imprisonment and a fine of $2,000,000 on the drug charge.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti and was investigated by the Martinsburg Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
