Clarksburg Resident Enters Plea to Crack Cocaine Charge

CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA - A 38 year old Clarksburg, West Virginia, resident entered a plea of guilty on November 29, 2011, in United States District Court in Clarksburg before Magistrate Judge John S. Kaull.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that TASHA VANSCOY entered a plea of guilty to one count of an indictment charging her with aiding and abetting the distribution of crack cocaine within 1,000 feet of the Monticello Avenue playground and the Harrison Street playground on May 27, 2011. VANSCOY, who is in custody pending sentencing, faces a maximum exposure of 1 to 40 years imprisonment and a fine of $2,000,000.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Zelda E. Wesley and was investigated by the Harrison County Drug Task Force, consisting of officers from the Clarksburg Police Department, the Harrison County Sheriff’s Department and the Bridgeport Police Department.
