Three Individuals Sentenced in Federal Court

MARTINSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA — Four individuals were sentenced on October 18, 2011, in United States District Court in Martinsburg by Chief Judge John Preston Bailey.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II announced that:

GARY WINSTON, age 24, of Martinsburg, West Virginia, was sentenced to 60 months imprisonment to be followed by four years of supervised release. WINSTON entered a plea of guilty on May 16, 2011, to one count of an Indictment charging him with trading cocaine base and $100 in exchange for a Hi-Point .45 pistol with obliterated serial number in March 2010. WINSTON was remanded to the custody of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal Institution. This case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti and was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Martinsburg Police Department.

STEPHEN KENT SLONE, age 47, of Bunker Hill, West Virginia, was sentenced to 48 months imprisonment to be followed by three years of supervised release. SLONE entered a plea of guilty on June 6, 2011to one count of an Indictment charging him with bank robbery of City National Bank in Inwood, West Virginia, on January 28, 2011. SLONE was remanded to the custoy of the United States Marshal pending designation to a Federal Institution. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti and was investigated by the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

CHRISTINA KELLEY, age 28, of Martinsburg, was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment to be followed by six years of supervised rleasae. KELLEY entered a plea of guilty on June 27, 2011, to one count of an Indictment charging her with the distribution of “crack” cocaine within 1,000 feet of Martinsburg High School on January 13, 2011. KELLEY, who is free on bond, will self-report to the designated Federal Institution on January 10, 2012. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Paul T. Camilletti and was investigated by the Eastern Panhandle Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force. The Task Force consists of officers from the West Virginia State Police - Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Martinsburg Police Department, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Department, and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.
